TESTING YOUR WATER IS THE FIRST STEP IN PROVIDING PROTECTION FOR YOUR FAMILY FROM HARMFUL BACTERIA, VIRUSES AND OTHER TOXINS. SOME OF THE THINGS WE TEST FOR ARE:
Indicates fecal contamination and the potential presence of harmful pathogens. It is crucial to test for E. Coli to ensure the water is safe to drink.
General indicator of bacterial contamination. The presence of coliform bacteria suggests there may be a pathway for pathogens to enter the water supply.
Caused by high levels of calcium and magnesium. Hard water is not harmful to health but can cause scaling in pipes and appliances, and reduce the effectiveness of soaps and detergents.
A toxic metal that can cause serious health issues, especially in children. Lead contamination often comes from old pipes and fixtures.
High levels of nitrates can be harmful, particularly for infants, causing conditions like methemoglobinemia or “blue baby syndrome.” They commonly come from agricultural runoff.
Similar to nitrates, nitrites are also harmful and can cause serious health issues. They are often found in agricultural areas.
While not typically harmful, sulfur in water can cause a foul taste and odor, often described as “rotten eggs.” It may also indicate the presence of other contaminants.
Indicates the acidity or alkalinity of the water. Water with very high or low pH can be corrosive to pipes and fixtures, and may also affect the taste of the water.
Not harmful to health but can cause staining of laundry and fixtures, and give water a metallic taste. It can also support the growth of iron bacteria.
High sodium levels can be a concern for people with high blood pressure or heart disease. It may come from natural sources or from water softeners.
